Many services are out there for children who are disabled:

The Easter Seals Organization helps families with disabled children.
The Joseph Kennedy Jr. Foundation was created by the Kennedy's who had a disabled daughter.
Special Olympics has been providing athletic programs for people with intellectual disabilities.
Autism Speaks was created by the grandparents of a child with autism.
